Janet is a Programme Lead in Health Education England’s (HEE’s) national programmes team leading a portfolio of transformation work spanning Population Health and Prevention and Prevention, Maternity and Children and Young People.  This includes a range of initiatives aimed at improving education for healthcare professionals around infection management which includes antimicrobial resistance, sepsis identification and management and recognition of acute deterioration.

Janet moved to HEE in 2013 following a brief spell at the Department of Health working on the Modernising Pharmacy Careers Programme.  A pharmacist by background, she spent her early career as a community pharmacy manager before moving to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society where she spent many years in various education policy and regulatory roles before moving to the General Pharmaceutical Council for a short spell overseeing the implementation of mandatory CPD and revalidation policy for pharmacy professionals.

In various freelance roles Janet has developed a range of educational materials to support the prevention and healthcare public health agenda and pharmacy workforce development, including course materials for Royal Society for Public Health-accredited qualifications.
